Manatad kang Kanuanan, Balayan a Mipanuanan
The theme “Manatad kang Kanauan, Balayan a Mipanuanan” highlights the call to all, rich and poor alike, to share whatever gifts they have received from God.
The jubilee being celebrated is also a call to a renewed response to the faith we have received through our ancestors and in our baptism and confirmation. Just as how Bishop Cesar Ma. Guerrero, the Diocese’s first bishop, envisioned the Cruzada de Penitencia Y Caridad to reinvigorate the lukewarm and skin-deep faith of the Kapampangans then, today, we are invited to confirm our faith as Christians by witnessing Christ to others wherever we are and whatever life situations we are in. Indeed, we have been “gifted” with a vibrant faith and ardent devotion to the Lord and his Blessed Mother. We are, in turn, called to be gifts, to be “lamac” ourselves for others, especially to the poor and to those who do not know the Lord, and even those who have been lukewarm in living their faith.
This theme first appeared on the Archdiocesan Integrated Pastoral Plan V (AIPP V), which reflects on the universal theme of the celebration “Gifted to Give.” Pope Francis, on his reflection, cites Jesus’s words: “Without cost you received; without cost, you are to give” (Mt 10:8).
